Product Advisor: We'll be your guiding hand, providing expert insights into physiological response prevention and mitigation.
Concept Development: Let us help you shape your operations with our expertise in developing and reviewing concepts of operations.
MetRate and Cooling Rates: We'll work alongside you to develop and review MetRate (Metabolic Rate) and cooling rate strategies that align with your mission objectives.
Ortho Injury Prevention: Safety is paramount. We'll assess products to prevent orthopedic injuries during your missions.
Human Mobility Assessment: Ensuring astronaut well-being is a top priority. Our experts will evaluate the human mobility aspects of your systems.
Requirements Development: Collaborate with us to develop and review product requirements at the system/component level, covering mechanical, electrical, software, and chemical aspects.
Verification Planning: We'll craft meticulous verification plans and development testing procedures at both the system and component levels.
Risk Assessment
Comprehensive Risk Assessment: To effectively provide the services mentioned above, we will conduct a comprehensive risk assessment. This assessment will vary between the Primary Operant and the Crew.
Anticipated Crew Medical Risks: We will categorize anticipated crew medical risks into high-risk, medium-risk, and low-risk categories.
High-risk medical issues may include trauma, thermal injuries, toxicological/hazmat injuries, electrical injuries, hypoxia, and ocular injury.
Medium-risk medical issues could consist of minor trauma, large lacerations, and unusable musculoskeletal injuries.
Low-risk medical issues may include small lacerations, useable musculoskeletal injuries, minor electric shock, and ocular foreign bodies.
Unanticipated Medical Issues: We recognize that unanticipated medical issues may arise during your missions. In such cases, our team will work closely with you to evaluate and provide treatment decisions on a case-by-case basis. Having a plan in place ensures that every situation is handled with the utmost care and expertise.
Advanced Medical Support: During testing, unmanned jumps, and manned jumps, through contractors, we can provide advanced medical support services when allowed by licensing and insurance.
Licensing and Regulatory Assessment: We will conduct a thorough assessment of the licensing and regulatory requirements relevant to your mission, ensuring that every aspect aligns with established legal and safety standards.
Field Ops
Baseline Planning: We can offer suggestions for a baseline plan, including what hospital/EMS services you should consider and what level of care should be at your disposal. We can also provide written guidance on the most appropriate level of care for contingency operations.
Mission Operations Presence: We can have a presence at mission operations, offering human factors, safety, and health consulting in real-time to ensure mission success.
Prebreathe Protocol: We've got the knowledge to assist in the development and review of pre-breathe protocols tailored to your missions.
DCS Treatment: Count on us for reliable guidance on Decompression Sickness (DCS) treatment procedures.
EMS Plan Establishment: We will establish a comprehensive written EMS Plan in close collaboration with the integrated team.
Medical Contingency Protocols: Count on us to establish clear and effective medical contingency protocols and procedures, enabling a systematic response to unexpected medical situations.
Coordination and Negotiation: We'll evaluate existing coordination with EMS/hospital services for evacuation needs and directly negotiate and coordinate with them if no prior agreements exist. We'll also be involved with medical treatment and decision-making throughout transport and in-patient treatment if needed, following hospital and local regulatory policy.
Informed Consent and Waivers
Informed Consent Process. We can coordinate retention of appropriate counsel to create an informed consent process that complies with federal law but also provides you and your operation with appropriate protection.
Waivers and Liability: We can coordinate review of waivers & releases with appropriate and qualified legal personnel.
Medical-Legal Relase: Our team will design a medical and legal review process so each participant is properly informed of the risks and dangers pertaining to them, and their particular medical history, to increase transparency along the entire mission.
